Kyiv hopes that an agreement with Poland on the cancellation of the fees for Polish national visas for Ukrainian citizens will be signed in June 2012, the director of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry’s consular department, Andriy Olefirov, has said.
"Poland and we are currently conducting domestic procedures. I think that under favorable conditions the agreement could be signed in June this year," he told journalists on Thursday, while answering a question from an Interfax-Ukraine reporter.
He added that the agreement should be signed by the foreign ministers of both countries.
As reported, in early April 2012, Kyiv and Warsaw agreed to start the procedures needed to sign an agreement on the cancellation of the fee for Polish visas. According to Foreign Ministry spokesman Oleksandr Dykusarov, on March 30, respective negotiations were held in Kyiv at the level of the heads of the consular services of the Ukrainian and Polish foreign ministries.
