EWB has already completed the project “Promoting the introduction of visa free regime with the EU: Approaching public policy in the documents’ security and migration policy to the EU standards”, supported by the “European Program” of IRF. The project was aimed to investigate public policy on documents’ security and migration policy and formulate recommendations on how to bring these two areas into compliance with the criteria of visa-free regime with the EU.
EWB publishes a research: "Modern migration processes", prepared by the well-known researcher, an expert in the migration sphere – Iryna Prybytkova. In her study the author reveals the migration potential of Ukraine, with the characteristics of labour migration, motivation and barriers of migration flows.
Highlight of the research is a sociodemographic portrait of the foreign migrant workers, their self-esteem level of material welfare status of family and position in the social hierarchy.
Among many other topics covered in this research, you’ll find answers to the following questions: What makes migrant workers leave their homes in a search of work? Which countries are the most popular for working migrants? What reasons push Ukrainian workers to return home?
The research also reveals features of circular labour migration, which is a form of internal migration of population of Ukraine. Recommendations proposed by the author of research on issues of legislative support of the migration policy of Ukraine are the result of an interim analysis of the situation in the field of migration in the context of "visa dialogue" between Ukraine and the EU.
