The workshop will be held within the frame of the Eastern partnership Civil Society Forum and attended by prominent experts on migration and visa issues. They’ll reflect on what has been achieved in the EU visa issuance practice in the EaP countries and what progress has been made by each of the EaP countries to achive visa-freeregime with the EU.
During the event there will be a presentation of an art photo exhibition “Visas? What’s the Reason?” aimed to generate a larger public and expert discussion about the borders, visas and freedom of movement in Europe.
Issues scheduled to be discussed:
• How do the EU Visa Code and Visa Facilitation Agreement work? (The case of Ukraine)
• Visa issuance by the EU Member States in the Eastern Europe: comparative insight
• Visa “filter” of the EU travel/immigration policy: who is suffering, who is benefiting from them?
• Visa liberalization for the Eastern Partnership countries: drives and barriers
