On the March 29th 2013 from 11.30 until 12.20 in the information agency UNIAN the experts from the Civic Initiative Europe without Barriers and the partner analyticl centers will held the press-conference Move Towards the Visa-Free Regime with the EU: Where is Ukraine Today?
On November 22 2010 on the Ukraine-EU Summit in Brussels Ukraine was granted the Visa Liberalization Action Plan.
In spite of the numerous declarations made by the Ukrainian officials about the plans to get the visa-free regime with the in the shortest terms, Ukraine demonstrates extremely low tempos in implementation of the Visa Liberalization Action Plan, remaining already three years in the first (legislative) phase of the Action Plan.
The experts from the Civic Initiative Europe without Barriers and the partner analytical centers suggest the analysis of the actual Ukrainian institutional structure and the legislative base in the area of implementation of the Visa Liberalization Action Plan, including the bills on fight against corruption an discrimination, protection of the personal data which were newly introduced by the government.
Issues for discussion:
– Move toward the visa free regime with the EU: where is Ukraine today?
– What did the laws on VLAP implementation adopted by Verkhovna Rada of the 6-th convocation in its last months change?
– The bills introduced by the government to the new parliament: how do the independent experts assess it?
– Who is responsible for the implementation of the Visa Liberalization Action Plan and what are the features of such responsibility?
– What is the prognosis for the current year regarding EU-Ukraine visa relations?
