Europe without Barrires publishes the analytical report on “Peculiarities of single stop’s functioning (simplified crossing the border) at the border points of Ukraine”. The report reflects the outcomes results of the research on functioning of the experimental mechanism of simplifying of crossing the border during Euro-2012 . It has been carried out by the Batory Foundation together with CI Europe with Barriers and Lviv Legal Soceity.
General overview of the problem
Functioning of the experimental mechanism of simplifying of crossing the border during Euro-2012 foresaw documents’ check and personal baggage of the people who were crossing the border via custom and border services of the countries in one place and by one side of the check point.
Implementation of the practice of a ‘single stop’ at the Border points of Ukraine and Poland in general improved the speed of crossing the border. It is proved by the travelers as well as by the employees of boarder and custom authorities of both countries. However in the functioning of simplified procedure of crossing the border in one place – ‘single stop’ there arises a row of juridical and technical complications.
Thoughts of travelers concerning the possibilities of inadequate usage of ‘green corridor’ and taking advantages of authorities of boarder and custom services for quicker crossing the border are not groundless.
