Drago Kos, the President of GRECO, said about insufficient effectiveness of the fight against corruption in Ukraine. He told it to “Dzerkalo Tyzhnia. Ukraine ”
"The Council of Europe and GRECO made a lot of efforts and funds to support Ukraine in fight against corruption. We have not received the results which we were expecting for many years. We understand the problems of the country, but also we realise that Ukraine could do much more in combating corruption. Best results in this sphere would obviously help to solve a number of other important problems of the country"- said D. Kos.
He also noted that Ukraine would find itself in a very difficult situation, submitting an application for a visa free regime with the EU and without having serious advances in anti-corruption sphere, such as full implementation of the recommendations.
