An agreement on visa-free travel between Ukraine and Israel, signed in July 2010, comes into force on Wednesday.
The Intergovernmental Agreement on the abolition of visas between Ukraine and Israel for short trips of citizens was signed in July 2010 the foreign ministers of both countries.
Citizens of Israel and Ukraine are now able to travel between the countries without visas for up to 90 days.
Israel hopes the number of Ukrainian tourists in 2011 will increase 40% year-on-year and exceed 140,000 people, bringing in around $100 million in tourist revenue.
It is also expected that the transition to a visa-free regime with Ukraine will raise the inflow of Ukrainian tourists in Israel to 200 thousand people per year.
