On 23rd of March the agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Govern-ment of the Slovak Republic on the fees abolition, which was signed in Kyiv on 6 October 2010 will come in force.
As the Department for Information Policy of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine informs, the provisions of the agreements provide the release of all categories of citizens of Ukraine and Slovakia from paying fees for long-term national visas (which give the right to stay in countries more than three months but not more than one year).
Slovakia became the fourth of EU member states after Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, which has supported the initiative of Ukraine concerning the abolition of consular fees for issuing national visas.
It is necessary to ask a single Schengen visa for short-term visits to Slovakia for tourism. The cost of such kind of visa is 35 euro as defined in the Visa Facilitation Agreement between Ukraine and the EU.
