On March, 27, 2012 from 10.30 a.m. till 15.30 in Brussels, Policy Association for an Open Society will be helding a seminar: “Reaching the Tipping-point of Visa-Free Travel for Eastern Partner Countries”.
The event is part of “Paving the road towards visa-free travel between the Eastern Partnership countries and the EU“, a PASOS-led project. At the seminar, new policy briefs on the progress made, and challenges ahead, will be presented by leading think-tank analysts from the Eastern Partnership countries. The seminar will comprise the following three sessions:
1)Freedom to Travel or a Security Problem? Human rights in EU visa and readmission policies towards Partner countries, and anti-migration impulses in EU members’ election campaigns.
2)Reaching the Tipping-Point of Visa-Free Travel: Ukraine, Georgia and Moldova – where are the real weak links and political stumbling-blocks that could delay finalisation of visa liberalisation?
3)Reaching the Tipping-Point of Visa-Free Travel: Armenia, Azerbaijan and Belarus – political will in the Partner countries vs political conditionality from the EU side
