Fake Schengen visas are not being made in Ukraine, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has said.
"As for the fake visas, I have not heard of such cases, or the existence of a factory producing Schengen visas," the director of the consular service department of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, Andriy Olefirov, said at a roundtable entitled "Why is it so difficult for Ukrainians to get visas to the EU?" in Kyiv on Thursday.
He said that for such actions people are called to account both in Ukraine and in other countries.
According to the Foreign Ministry, the European side regularly informs Ukraine about problems and violations during the processing of visas by Ukrainian citizens, and the ministry received no reports of the registration of fake visas.
