This study was performed within the international project “Paving the road towards visa-free travel between the Eastern Partnership countries and the EU” under the auspices of the PASOS.
Analytical review is a part of international research made by experts from the Eastern Partnership countries (under the auspices of PASOS). The authors reveal successes and difficulties of the criteria implementation for visa-free movement in such areas as: documents’ security, illegal migration, public order and security, external relations and fundamental rights.
In addition other important questions were revealed: is there enough political will to implement the objectives and criteria for obtaining the right of free movement in relations with the EU; how Ukrainian media reflect the issues; what role does civil society play in the visa liberalisation process?
Analytical report also contains some recommendations. The implementation of such recommendations will put Ukraine closer to visa-free regime with the EU.
