With negotiations on an Association agreement and DCFTA, set to be finalised within the next year, the EU Ukraine Business Council is organising a Round Table discussion to assist in raising awareness and so doing, help towards a smoother implementation of provisions of future agreements.
The Round Table will take place on 7th December in Brussels from 15.00 till 17.00. Members of the Ukrainian Parliament, the European Parliament and officials from both sides will participate.
The next round of the EU-Ukraine DCFTA (deep and comprehensive free trade agreement) negotiations will take place during the week of 6th December in Brussels. We are expecting that chief negotiators from the EU and Ukrainian side will join us for the Round Table.
The Round Table discussions will also focus on the next steps to take after the actual implimentation of the Agreement. There should be a strong emphasis on the DCFTA part and on getting the texts through the European Parliament and the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. This also means focussing on the implementation and actual enforcement of the agreement as some DCFTA provisions will be enforced after ratification.
The event has been organised with the support of TNK-BP, an EUUBC member and sponsor of the DCFTA theme during 2010. Additional support came from System Capital Management, another EUUBC member.
