February 20, 2012 from 10:00 till 13:00 in the information agency “Ukrinform”, Civic Initiative “Europe without barriers” is holding a roundtable, which will present the results of the annual comprehensive civic monitoring of the Action Plan on visa liberalisation (VLAP), issued by the European Union.

February 20, 2012 from 10:00 till 13:00 in the information agency “Ukrinform”, Civic Initiative “Europe without barriers” is holding a roundtable, which will present the results of the annual comprehensive civic monitoring of the Action Plan on visa liberalisation (VLAP), issued by the European Union.

The participants of the event will be offered an independent essesment of reforms in the areas of  documents security, migration policy, public order, security and external and fundamental relations.

The organizers of the roundtable also scheduled to discuss the impact of political factors on visa liberalisation and analyse the progress of Ukraine on the background of other countries of region. In particular, experts are going to compare the results of civic monitoring with the results of European Commission’s promulgation of the second report on the Ukrainian implementation of the Action Plan on visa liberalisation.    

During the event, it is scheduled to present a comparative evaluation of the results of central executive bodies work, involved into the process of visa liberalisation and the results of the study on the EU technical assistance to support the reforms in the field of visa liberalisation.

The event will be attended by experts of core public organizations and independent research centres which have analyzed the situation and readiness of those areas of state policy where the greatest risks for quality of implementation VLAP are considered to be.

The representatives of the Coordination Center for VLAP implementation, MFA of Ukraine, Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, EU Delegation in Ukraine, Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, Migration Service of Ukraine, as well as leading experts of government and non-governmental think tanks, public figures and journalists are expected to participate in the event.

The event is held at support  of the International Renaissance Foundation.
