EWB conducted the field study within the 5th wave of nationwide monitoring of the EU visa practices Data analysis is in the process. Presentation of the outcomes will be scheduled for September 2011.
The field research (interviews) were conducted from June 30 to July 25, 2011. 1200 respondents and applicants from 20 consular services of the EU member states and Schengen area were interviewed.
Results of the research allow to assess Visa Facilitation Agreement and the EU Visa Code. implementation. The quality and effectiveness of the provisions implementation of the Visa Code will also be taken into account. It applies to the compulsory granting reasons for visa refusal and ensuring the right of appeal, which is one of the most important innovations of the Schengen law for applicants.
