The EU External Action Service has recently published the List of the EU-Ukraine Association Agenda priorities for 2011-12 on its official website. This List is a new practical tool to prepare to implement the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU until its entry into force.
The List of priorities was worked out on the principles of political association and economic integration, joint participation, joint responsibility and joint assessments. This document subjects to anuual review with the introduction of the monitoring mechanism for its implementation.
This document covers such areas of cooperation between Ukraine and the EU as:
1. Political Dialogue
(Democracy, rule of law, human rights and fundamental freedoms, Combating Corruption, Foreign and Security Policy,)
2. Co-operation on Justice, Freedom and Security issues
3. Economic cooperation
4. Trade and trade related matters
(Rules of origin, Technical regulations on industrial products, standards and conformity assessment procedures, Sanitary and phytosanitary measures, Public procurement, Competition, Intellectual property, Customs and trade facilitation)
5. Energy co-operation including nuclear issues
6. Other co-operation issues
(Public financial internal control and external audit and control, Taxation, Statistics, Transport, Environment and climate change, Company law, corporate governance, accounting and auditing, Financial services, Information society, Agriculture and rural development, Science, technology and innovation, etc.)
The appropriate attention in the List of priorities is paid to the Cooperation on Justice, Freedom and Security issues within the framework of appropriate implementation of the Action Plan on Visa Liberalisation by the Ukrainian Government.
