The agreement in principle on the creation of a “Schengen agency” to whom the task is not making a profile area, has already been reached between the European Commission, the Council (of Ministers), the EU and the European Parliament.
It is suggested that the competence of the agency, in particular, included the operational management at a technical level, the Schengen information system (Schengen Information System II), the visa information system (Visa Information System) and Eurodac.
"Schengen Agency" will provide daily functioning information technology systems Schengen; its headquarters proposed to place in Tallinn, the central server in Strasbourg and the station technical support Pong (Spain).
Schengen Information System is a closed database, which included individuals and objects in the search, those unwanted in the territory of States Parties or missing, as well as information about counterfeit and lost documents and related border security.
