European Union abolished the visa regime for citizens of Albania and Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Following the European Parliament’s approval of the scrapping of the visa regime for Bosnian and Albanian citizens, EU ministers met today to make a final decision.
This decision, which was made today at a meeting of the EU ministers of justice and home affairs, was a result of over two years working on the road map’s implementation for the non-visa regime. During this period, these two Balkan countries has completed more than 100 substantive EU requirements as to the reforms in such areas: security of documents, combating illegal migration and human trafficking, security of borders, public order and security etc. The last country, that has expressed reservations on the visa liberalization for these countries, was France.
