From November 1, 2010 visa simplifications will be waiting for residents of Donetsk and Lugansk regions, wishing to visit France.
Now the citizens of Ukraine who wish to visit France for business, tourism, private business, may apply to the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Donetsk for registration of short-term Schengen visa. According to the information from Czech embassy in Ukraine, the Czech Republic and the Republic of France signed an agreement on mutual representation in short-term Schengen visas processing, which came into force on 1 November 2010 – Ministry of Foreign Affairs informs.
It was noted that the new procedure of processing the short-stay visas to France applies only to citizens of Ukraine, who are the permanent residents of Donetsk or Lugansk regions, and will not apply to short-stay visas with the purpose of marriage.
