“Europe without Barriers” presents the results of public monitoring on issuing visas to citizens of East and West parts of Ukraine by the EU member states in 2010. These results are described in our NEW publication “Schengen Consulates in Assessments and Ratings. Visa practice of the EU member states in Ukraine, 2010”, in details. This material includes the information on the elements of visa procedure on the Western and Eastern parts of Ukraine and its effectiveness.
The cities of Western region (Uzhgorod, Lviv) and Eastern region (Donetsk) became the object of research. Regional partners of “Europe without barriers" has shared information about the features of the EU visa practices outside the capital of Ukraine.
Svitlana Mytryayeva, Andriy Kryzhevskyy, Olga Yehorova, Anna Kontsevenko from the "Centre of Strategic Partnership" (Uzhgorod) gave the details of experience in the issue of Transcarpathia visa practice monitoring of the EU consulates in Ukraine.
Volodymyr Kipen from Donetsk Institute for Social Studies and Political Analysis highlighted the features of the visa practice in consulates of Czech Republic and Greece in Eastern Ukraine.
Andriy Lepak from Lviv Legal Community described in details the problem of large consulates, particularly the consulates of Czech Republic and Poland in Lviv.
